It’s not a shame to be poor but it’s a big shame when you don’t help other people.
„Al Gami’ya“, is an idea about the solidarity between many people, who have the same standard of living. The idea for example if ten people participate and each of them pays 100 egyptian pounds then the total amount that the participants will receive is 1000 pounds. This is an innovative way for Egyptians to cope with the high prices and pressures of daily life and economic burdens. Al Gami’ya ein Film , der das Leben der Menschen in “Rod El Frag“ , einem Slum in Kairo, dokumentiert. 2018 wurde dieser zum ersten Mal im Rahmen des Berlinale Filmfestival in der Sektion Panorama vorgeführt. Die Hauptprotagonistin zeigt in diesem Film, wie sie sich als Frau ihr ganzes Leben lang um ihre Familie kümmert. Dabei sind die Männer wie ein Extra-Familienmitglied, auf den Schultern der Frau. Und häufig ist dies auch der Fall bei den anderen Familien, die im Film gezeigt werden. Der Kampf um das Tagesbrot für die Familie wird von den Frauen geführt. 
Der Dokumentarfilm AlGami’ya von der Regisseurin Reem Saleh (Ägypten, 79 Minuten, Sektion Panorama) wurde im Bezirk Rod el Farag gedreht, einem sehr armen Stadtteil in Kairo.
